Sweet! I’m stuck in the basement with the angry cat

That’s really nice! Where did you get the table and drawer unit?:glowforge:

It was a mad push before BAMF.

Oh bless your heart! Looks rather chaotic, for sure. Calm returns.

I have since gotten some shelving for Materials but still haven’t moved some shelving for all the stuff that is partially cut or put together. I needs some tubs or something.

You are my people. 'Cept you’ve left space for walkways AND chairs… dunno what’s up with that, you get one or the other.

I also use the plastic grocery bag method of consumables storage - ie: drop the bag and leave it til it’s needed for something. Just today I found 6 packages of hot melt glue sticks in four different bags from Hobby Lobby.

I have cat food boxes filled with all the little frisket and tidbits left over from lasering. I’m up to about five overflowing. Can’t throw them away.

Over the last 6 months I have been clearing out clutter little by little. Fortunately, I tend to stash stuff away in cardboard boxes so at least it’s physically easy to handle… just mentally I have a hard time with it.

You know, if you were doing other woodworking projects you could take those small bits of lasered woods and run them through a blender or coffee grinder to create a dust/pulp you could mix with wood glue to hide countersunk screws or even use as a filler for voids and knots in natural product.

Yeah, that’s the level of madness happening over here… LOL.

Yep, that looks familiar! You’ve added a few things since we visited.

Yup and yup. I now have forty or fifty old wooden-framed silk screens from my neighbor, that I couldn’t just let him throw away because those textures from screen frames that were used for 20+ years and then left to sit for another decade… I don’t really do silkscreening… maybe I can use them to frame canvases?

But I’m not a hoarder. Not me.

Got a shelf on it today. Now I can’t decide if I want to put some kind of finish on the work top. I also got the crazy idea to try and figure out a way to make the shelf so I can pull it forward like a drawer for easy access to materials. (Work top is 4 ft wide)

Now see that’s a realistic makerspace @marmak3261. These other ones are just too clean! That looks like mine!

One idea - Mount some long drawer slides on the outside edges of the bench and then build an extension onto the shelf to mount them to. Should work great.

Always a work in progress.

That’s my problem with leaving things in the bags - don’t see what’s in them so then I end up buying some more. Then I find something like 6 packages in 4 bags

I try to get them into their correct drawers or in open sight on shelves. What’s messing that up though is the remnants of cuts - those pile up and I’ve started just feeding them to the pizza oven because it gets hard to match individual cut items with leftover material. Sort of wasteful but then I don’t need kindling

Haha! Nice. Everyone here is uber creative in different ways. I love it! Learning so much! My “makerspace” creations are mostly done on a computer, so often the biggest mess I make is a disorganized computer desktop. And since my GF will be in a place where clients come to visit, I’ll be forced to keep it pretty tidy. I can promise you that other spaces I work in like my garage bear no resemblance to my office… I appreciate all of you. Looking forward to learning more from you when my GF arrives!

Here’s mine! I’m an Oct 15 order and not a “Regular” And I ordered a Pro, so it looks like I’ll have plenty of time to finish. Vapor barrier arrives tomorrow I think, so I can start putting down some flooring. I’ll be stalled for a bit, I’m flying out to San Diego next Wed to pick up a VW Vanagon a buddy of mine and I bought. We will be taking 10+ days to drive it home to Maine if all goes well!

WOW you couldnt have picked a longer drive! If you’re driving back through Arizona, make sure to pick up some extra water for yourselves, and maybe the Vanagon too. Tues, Wed, Thurs next week we’re going to be at the 120 degree mark, so take 'er easy and stay safe!

Yeah, I find little bags of various hardware too. As far as the glue sticks, that’s only about a month or two supply at the rate I burn through it.

And you’re getting pizza out of the deal as well. That’s a win.
