Not sure how the dots work out on mylar, but using an actual screen, you’re putting a decent amount of pressure with the squeegee, so I’d imagine you’re not getting enough pressure to get the tiny details. The smaller the details, the harder you need to press for a real screen print. If you could set the mylar in a frame, it’d likely turn out better. Screens also have some give to them that helps put down a consistent image as you pull though they can distort a little over time if you don’t push back as well. A rubber squeegee run both directions before pulling the mylar off would probably do a bit better, but your problem is going to be holding it down properly I’d imagine. Cool idea though!

I’d try it with the “Vary power” setting. That should kill off GF’s dots and get you solid black circles.
