Silverware Drawer

My sister moved into a new house and was using cardboard boxes to separate her silverware. As she was now walking distance from me I offered to make her a better one.

The lesson I learned is - use a silverware drawer generators, it’s not worth designing from scratch!!

It’s ab fab in the end, a little hard to photograph being clear acrylic, but check it out

That’s a fantastic insert! Might have to look at doing one of those for my misses as well!

How’d you assemble it? Glue?

Excellent! Silverware can be quite unruly!

Awesome job! I can’t imagine all that silverware being jumbled together—it makes my brain hurt.

Very nice! Definitely better than cardboard boxes. What a great housewarming gift! And how nice to have your sister living close by!

Ditto. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: We have separate slots for each type & size not just to break them up into smaller groups of disarray. Forks by size & stacked nested on each other, spoons by size & nested and then the knives. No jumbles. Jumbles make me itchy. I never look in other people’s drawers because I’d be reorganizing them in the middle of a visit :joy:

Nice project. Well thought out. Well executed. Completely custom. What a nice “Welcome to your new home” gift..

I hope you and your sister enjoy living close to one another. For the first time in more than fifty years, my brother and I live, not only in the same state, but within a easy walk. It’s been terrific.

It’s finger jointed, and then yes, acrylic cement. It’s very solid despite the size!

Mine too! I keep on trying to convince them that as they run their dishwasher pretty much every day they do not need so many - but so far no luck.

Definitely. We are both better at getting projects done when we have someone else in the room so it’s been extra nice.

Not quite 50 for us, but pushing 40 for sure!

What brand name glue?

Thanks!

Weld-on in the tube (so it’s a gel rather than water consistency)
