Some shapes went wrong

Hello, and sorry I don’t speak english very well.
I was doing some engraving tests on slate, and for each test, i was scoring my settings.
When scoring the number 2, it always goes wrong as you can see on the picture. I made some tests, waiting for this to occure, and when this happened, my glowforge made a strange noise.
I guess the problem comes from the straps. Can you please tell me if I need to tighten them ? Or is the problem elsewhere ?

Welcome to the forum.

I think your machine is ok. Scoring at a speed of 1000 is too fast and causes the head to jerk on the number 2. Speeds of 1000 are for engraving when the printhead is only traveling back and forth rather than following a path.

Oh, i explained it bad. i engraved something you cant see on the picture at 1000 speed, but i scored what you see on the picture at 500 speed

It is only the 2 that goes wrong, so I don’t think it is the machine. Print the Gift of Good Measure on typing paper using the proofgrade settings. If it turns out ok, then your machine is fine. If it doesn’t turn out with clear engraving, share the photo here for evaluation.

500 speed is really testing the limits of the movement system, and any built-up dust/debris on the belts, flat spots from wear, or slack in the tension are going to become evident as it whips the print head around as fast as possible. There are no Proofgrade settings that ever use 500 speed, even on plain paper. Slow it down and the problem will likely be solved.
