Soot Removal from House Fire

I need your help! I had a house fire January of this year. My glow forge had no physical damage; however, it is covered in soot. I have never used it and want to clean it properly without causing damage. Any suggestions on how to remove the soot? I believe it is all exterior soot coverage.

Thank you,
Mo

A brush and vacuum.

Many commercial products will do. I think a cleaner like simple green would work well.
A word of caution, don’t get any liquid inside the machine.
Hopefully the damage to your home wasn’t too great.

Thank you.

I lost many of my heirlooms and design/crafting supplies stored in my garage; however, I am very thankful no lives were lost. I am well.:heart:

Thank you!

For interior surfaces, always spray the cleaner on the cloth and then wipe. Pretty good advice for cleaning anything in general. At the very least it helps prevent streaks and for electronics it prevents shorts. :slightly_smiling_face:
