Sort of changing perspective ! (In Inkscape)

I need to be able to change the ‘taper’ on a drawing in inkscape, but can’t find a method in the program.
I’ve attached a rough idea of the problem.

problem

It’s necessary that all the contents of the bounding box are given the same change of perspective.

How much of a taper do you want? Size is OK, I can just zoom in…

Edit… I see now I have it open that you already did it - what’s the issue?

It’s to enable me to change the ‘angle’ of a design within one fan section, so that I can change opening angle of a fan.
If the design is laid out with a taper, lets say, of 5 degrees, I want to change that to 5.5 degrees.
This would change a 24 section fan from 120 degrees to 132 degrees.
Conversely, I could change the number of sections, and keep the overall opening angle the same.

I think I’ve got it.
I tried the method in inkscape, but drew the bounding box clockwise, instead of anticlockwise.
Seems to make a big difference !

The only issue I foresee is that it changes the aspect ratio of the inner elements. I had a design where that was tricky to manage. I forget how I addressed it, but I eventually did - I was going to fiddle with it but if you’re happy with what you’ve got, well, my brain hurts enough (from other things…)

No, I thought I had it, but going back to try again, it didn’t work.
So the problem is still there waiting !
I’m trying the ‘Draw a new bounding box starting at the bottom left corner. Then select the box, then shift/select the original object, then go to Extensions/modify path/perspective.

I used Path/Path Effects and add the Perspective/Envelope effect, then adjust the handles.

All the design elements were combined before applying the effect, but that messes with the aspect ratio as I mentioned…

I suspect the number of nodes on the bounding box needs to be the same as(in some way) as that of the drawing. I just put an oval into a hexagon but is only used the first four nodes, hence the current idea.

This is the real problem - change the drawing on the left into the shape on the right!

Same process. Apply Perspective/Envelope path effect, then just adjust the handles - the bottom corners are the lower X/Y pair…

Thanks elfguy, you beat me to it !
I’ve just fount a tutorial on youtube - easy when you know how.
Problem solved.

I’m too stubborn for that… I prefer to stumble thru things until I figure out! (although to be fair, I do sometimes refer to documentation…)

I have had that issue from many perspectives. One I had a series of leaves that I wanted to taper in a spiral. You can place a large leaf at one end of the distance and a small leaf at the other and say that you want 8 steps and by three or so kinds of taper it will provide all the 'tween points. By replacing a spiral with the result I had a spiral of leaves going from big to small…

In a different situation, I used two rows of 5 points to get a more hourglass look in what had been a straight pattern so you are not limited to just 4.
