I whipped this wine box up on short notice for a housewarming gift for one of my Squadron coworkers. As usual, I used the festi box generator, although I’m getting a little frustrated with the apparent lack of accuracy (this could also be due to the home depot project boards being poorly planed). The box itself is walnut, with maple for the lighter parts of the squadron seal on the front. The only paint is a hammered gold on the inside layers, seen through the crown holes on the sides. The slide on lid is very tight, even after heavy sanding and adjusting, but this is likely due to a slight warp in the wood. Overall, turned out beautiful, and was a big hit with the rest of the Wardroom.

Beautiful! Oddly, I have been working on one of these today for a good single malt Scotch to give to a friend… Yours is so far above what I’ve come up with. Nicely done!
