Is it safe to cut tar paper on glowforge or on any laser for that matter.
There are many types of “tar paper”, some specifically designed for cutting on the laser. You need to be more specific, or obtain the SDS from the manufacturer.

Hmm, didn’t know there were different types - I’m talking about the ones you get at Home Depot that construction folks use - I have left over from my studio remodel and use it for ceramics work all the time due to it’s resistance to water and durability. Wanted to laser cut some patterns to use with my ceramics work but don’t want to create toxic fumes. I’ll see if I can get some info on what type it is. Thanks
Contact the manufacturer or look up an SDS. I highly doubt construction-grade tar paper would be good for the machine.
