Up cycle a Cigar Box with Custom Dividers

Getting ready for the month of May the church ladies were overheard discussing how to wrap paper around a shipping box and put some type of dividers in to keep rosaries from getting all tangled up.

I told them I had just the box. Ave Maria is a brand of cigars and I got a gift box with cigars and an ash tray as a going away gift from my last parish. The Deacon gave them to me so I guess he is responsible foe any sacrilege that may or not be present.

I just made a nice felt square for the bottom and used the Inkscape box maker to generate dividers.

Cigar boxes are a great shortcut for all sorts of projects. Some of them are really nice! I hope they appreciate your choice of brand.

For others who might want to use cigar boxes for projects: you can sometimes get empty boxes for free or at low cost from cigar shops. You can also find empty boxes online, including on Amazon.

My jam buddy’s favorite fiddle used to be a cigar box.

The only cigar box I have is one my Dad had when I was really little. It has some of his writing inside the lid which was keeping track of a couple of his paychecks, I believe from just before he quit working for a particular company during the rocket race to space. I was 5 yrs old. Since he died when I was 11, I’ve always kept it to remember him by.

Great idea for a cigar box. Out of the box thinking inside of a box. Yep…
