Everything is laser cut, except the walnut trim on top and sides that conceal the laser-cut box joints.
The box is maple plywood; hands and inlaid dial points are walnut.

Looks great. I bet Mom loved it.
Thanks. I think she would have. (Unfortunately this is a memorial gift for my siblings.)
So sorry. It is a lovely tribute.
Nice angles on that design.
Thanks. It’s not obvious, but all of the angles are echoed at other points in the design to try to make it more harmonious. For example, the taper of the hands is the same as the taper of the side trim.
To cut the latter on the table saw, I used a laser-cut jig to get the precise angle I wanted.
I think subtleties like that are perceived subconsciously. The design “feels” good as well as being visually pleasing.
This is very nice and a lovely memorial gift. I love your choice of woods and the hands are fab.
“choice of woods” … ahh, I can’t take credit for that. I shamelessly copied the style from this cool CD cabinet.
This turned out very classy. Great job!
This looks great. I like the trim added to hide the joints.
Your attention to detail has made this a most pleasing design. Love the tribute to your mom.
That’s beautifully elegant!
Wow! Very nice!
