Great example of metaphors we live by: discourse is a room we enter and exit and our of various furniture in the exchange of meaning.

Depends on your definition of “bad.” Bad means bad in some cases. Bad means good in other cases. For example, “His breath smelled really bad” is an example of bad meaning bad. This is especially true when said while making “stank face.” However, “She’s a bad mamma jamma” is an example of bad meaning good as “her body measurements are perfect in every dimension.” Oddly enough, this is also especially true when said while making “stank face.” Often this boils down to the difference between speaking English and talking American. :wink:

Working with college students, it took me a while to get used to students exclaiming “sick!” and it actually meaning awesome/good.
