I would be surprised. With way over 10,000 GFs sold a simple name is not a good identifier. The name might be combined with your login to create a unique identifier. Then you could use the same name as someone else because the login would be different. Might also use a MAC address.

You shouldnt have to deal with this. They will probably assign a GUID (globally unique id) to each device and you can name it whatever you want.

Certainly. You may have misunderstood me. Was just trying to allay anyone’s concern that a duplicate name would cause conflict. Everyone can probably pick what they want without fear of duplication. The name would not be how the Company differentiates the machines for network communication and operation. Probably just for your convenience.

My reasoning: Not only is it an appropriately fire-related name, it is also one of my nicknames for my real GF (our collective personal/intimate nickname set is “Ash and Air” - there is a mushy story involved). It seems fitting that I would dedicate my other GF to her.
