Wild Things Light Box

I finished my first big project today. It’s a paper cut light box inspired by one of my favorite children’s books. I used 140lb watercolor paper and cut my design on a Seklema mat. I flipped the finished pieces to display the “backside”, which mostly hid any slight discoloration. I’m still tweaking settings but this was pretty close to perfect, there was minimal discoloration or singed edges.

The design has 10 layers that are displayed in a deep shadow box frame and backlit with LEDs.

I love this. My brother makes light boxes using B&W photos, so this would be right up his alley. He, however, does not own a Glowforge. Maybe…if he’s extra nice to me…

Light boxes were one of the big things I’ve wanted to make with the GF even before mine came, but I still haven’t done it, yet!
