After seeing the Trotec video about using aluminum tape and veneer for inlays last summer (covered here ), I thought of trying it with a pumpkin pin design I was fiddling with. I finally got back to it a year later.
These are padauk with walnut veneer for the inlaid ribs, and white oak for the stems.

Very cool. I too saw the original video and the ability to do seemingly impossible complicated designs was a real draw. Glad to see someone else do it successfully, especially in something so small!
