I have access to some wormy chestnut and I was wondering the setting to use. I will be using it only for engraving as it is cut to two inches thick.
A great way to start for new woods is to find what it’s similar to on the Janka scale:
and then run tests starting with settings used on those similar materials.
It’s quite close to Hickory, just harder than Rosewood and weaker than Purpleheart.
