Canvas has been done with some success, both cutting and bleaching.

Duck Cloth Canvas etching

Made some items (apron and bakery box) for my daughter’s new baking business and the results were better than expected. My first foray into lasering on duck cloth canvas and I was pleasantly surprised at the results. I expected it to be a brown “burn” engraving but instead it turned out bright white! Crisp, clean and the integrity of the fabric does not seem to be affected. I’m thrilled at the prospects of hundreds of canvas applications! The leather engraving was nice too. [apronphoto]

Art- Canvas cutting

When I first got the glowforge I hoped to be able to use it on canvas that I’d painted to make collage effects. Unfortunately, burning heavy metal pigments is apparently frowned upon, so I’ve been experimenting with switching the process around. Cut the canvas first, THEN paint. Canvas Pet Portraits

I have been working with flat panel canvas and Gimp and Inkspace and producing art from photographs. I am specializing in pet portraits. I think they come out cool! Using the proofgrade basswood settings and draft graphic preset. It engraves an 8 x 10 in about 38 minutes. Here are some samples I have done for customers. Comments welcome!
