If you’re still converting in Illustrator - you can remove that 2nd line.

Note for Adobe Illustrator users:
Watch that you always place the stroke in the center of the path (not either inside or outside the path) because the newer versions of Illustrator automatically Expand those when you create your SVG file. (The older versions didn’t.)
Just check the Stroke style, and make sure it is centered on the path.
A Centerline Trace is important if you want to take an image that consists of unfilled lines, like a coloring book page, and place just one path for cutting or scoring down the center of the lines that you see on the page.
The default Live Trace option in Illustrator doesn’t create that kind of result without special modifications being made to the Live Trace settings used. The normal default will result in a filled compound shape, with vector paths placed into the interface wherever there is …
Inkscape.org is free, but if you already know Illustrator, stick with it. If you don’t know Illustrator I think there are more people on here who can help with Inkscape so it’s worth a shot
