Thanks for the clarification. I know that seems like it should be obvious but there were multiple variations in this thread.

That also brings up another question. Is my delivery estimate based on the current speed of production or is it based on a planned increase in production speed?

The latter. We’re setting production records almost every week as we add staff to the line - it’s based on our manufacturer’s scaling plans.

April notification date for a Basic to Australia, so potentially May 2018+

@dan What I meant is that you said you are making the pros at a faster pace than the starters. If I upgrade now like I was intending to anyways does that mean I get it sooner? Right now I am hinging on waiting vs cancelling. This also had the possibility of being used as part of the reality show we have in the works but looks like it won’t be here for the taping of the pilot in November

Damn…I’ve jumped from “shipping: end of October '17” to “shipping: February '18” - even for an international order I didn’t expect another FOUR months delay, I was hoping something more near a month or a couple…that’s sad.

I hope in a little miracle from @dan and the staff in order to shorten the delay :slight_smile:

Production of Glowforge units is in full swing, and we’re working through the last two years of pre-orders to get to your 10/14/2015 order of a Glowforge Pro. Unfortunately, we’re not doing it quickly enough to hit the schedule we shared in the June update.

We’ve worked with our production team to forecast delivery for all shipments, domestic and international, and calculate the estimated date on which your shipping process will begin. This date is specific to your order, and we will update this date regularly as we obtain new information. It reflects the very latest compliance and logistics information on shipping to France from our international shipping consultants.

We’ll also include a date for the Air Filter you ordered. The Air Filter is running behind schedule and has not started production, so the date provided is a rough date, and we’ll be working to refine it. You’ll have the choice of receiving your Glowforge printer when it’s ready (and using a window or dryer vent for the exhaust until your Air Filter arrives), or holding delivery until it is ready.

I went on my glowforge account page and my estimated delivery is…
February 2018 and May 2018 for the air cooler !!!
I am so fed up with the endless delay annoucements
I spend thousands of euros making my creations outside my business waiting for a machine I fear I’ll never see now !

Ordered 2015-09-29 shipping will be estimated Feb 1 and Filter May 27 to Germany. This is crazy. If I would have known this before I really would have put all my efforts in organizing a laser cutter for my lab. This is really the worst thing they did. I was always expecting it and did not put my full effort to find an alternative.

Here my next steps:

  • I will buy a 1800€ ebay laser cutter I know a lab that has one and its ok

  • I will also buy a filter from China

  • I will also ask trotec and zing and mr. beam for help. We got a nice program where a zing laser travels from lab to lab here in Germany.

  • And I will do a crowdfunding for a laser saur or similar.

If anybody from overseas wants to join forces. I do not want to cancel my order yet because I am interested to have it but please lets organize. I made a facebook group here to see what we can do together.

We are 10 people alrady. I have added a guy I know from a fab lab in Paris that has one of these chinese ebay cutters so you can ask him some questions.

I ordered mine 10/14/2015 and I just got an email this morning saying I can expect it on 02/14/2018 and may 2018 for the air cooler. I just feel like crying

UK first week sign up - alleged shipping by first week of February. Hopefully (ha!) it’ll be before then as it’s arrival by 10th will be the best surprise birthday present!

Can the person who runs the shipping doc add a column for our new estimated ship date? It would be interesting to see where everyone falls and if updates happen, are the dates moving forward or back. Thanks

Why not just use the Discourse poll?

Would you have ordered a Glowforge if, on the date of your purchase, they had listed the “Shipping Date” (+~6 weeks) as the date on the email you just received?

You’re getting $20/month credit in the GF store for proofgrade materials and/or spare parts, so you’ll have $60 more in credits to spend than the folks who get theirs in October.
