Challenge accepted, andā¦Boom .
Yes folksā¦thatās a grain of rice.
The rice grains do not change color when they are engraved, so you need a special backlight and zoom lens for the camera to photograph it.
(Otherwise it just looks like rough rice.)
This is the best I can get. We need a pro here.
Congratulations @dan , @tony , @mark and all of the Glowforge crewā¦my socks have been blown OFF !
(It will do text even smaller than that, but I canāt photograph it and need to put it under a little microscope thing to see it.)
edit: Okay, figured a better way of taking the shot, through a microscope:

Iād be surprised if @henryhbk didnāt have some sort of macro-capable microscope available in his labs somewhere. Maybe he could follow up if he has time?

Absolutely! I lack photography equipment that will go that small.

Sure would make a great promotional material to show a Glowforge logo engraved in a painted pin head.

Ok, that is IMPRESSIVE, but since I have yet to receive my GlowForge and canāt do this myself, how about the ULTIMATE challenge.
Laser the GF symbol on a single Hydrogen Atom!
Too bad hydrogen atoms are blue, makes it hard to see the GF symbol! :-)))
