I’ve been making wooden blocks for block printing. Here is my most ambitious project yet, an 8"x8" four color peacock print. I’m printing on both fabric and paper.

The tricky part is cutting it so that it is possible to glue the bits lined up precisely, and designing the second layer of wood in the block so that it helps me line it up while printing. I got very confused while working on it, and started over in the design more than twice, but it finally sorted itself out…

I have made some progress in my laser cut woodblocks for block printing. This is a continuation of the project with rubber stamps that I wrote about here:
This time, I went large, and made the blocks out of wood. Here are some prints. The large square in both sets is 4"x4".

I continued my modular woodblock printing (which I showed you here Modular woodblock printing ), but this time I’m printing on fabric. I included dots that serve as embroidery guides on the prints to make it easier to keep my stitching symmetric. I also use the glow forge to make clear acrylic templates that let me put dots with a pencil onto the white parts of the fabric.
I just finished the first stitched print.
