HELP! Lid on my Glowforge Plus no longer closes all the way!

The lid on my Glowforge Plus no longer closes all the way! I bought it back in 2019. No issues til now.
The area on right corner hinge is popped up. Seems unglued. I saw a fix on YouTube which involves using epoxy and then laying a board on top to let it dry for at least 24 hours.

Anyone else ever do this. This is soooo upsetting.

This has unfortunately happened to others. Seems like the fix on YouTube would probably work, but also use the search function for ‘lid came unglued’.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I am considering your suggestions.

I did contact Glowforge and received a not very helpful email response.

Bottom line, purchase another machine or ask you guys. I am soooo disappointed!

I ran into the same issue. Lid hinge became unglued. Tried quick fixes at no avail. One day I decided to fix it once and for all. Got some really strong epoxy specially made for glass and plastic (mix 2 tubes). Disconnected the light cable, unscrewed the hinges. I very carefully separated the hinges and brackets with a puddy knife. Carefully cleaned all the old glue away. Then I glued and clamped it. Next morning I put it back together. Worked awesome! Happy as can be.

Is this still available and if so for how much?

Thx

Valerie

A quick eBay search will net one for 149$, and what looks like a few Chinese ones for 95-99$

Yes I have it & asking $100 & free shipping in the U.S.A. I bought it on Ebay for $149 but then I decided to get another laser.
