It sounds like maybe you need information on how to add cut lines to an image you traced? If that’s the case, here is a good link for you. About half-way down the below tutorial it talks about how to add cut lines to a trace.

Glowforge Interface - Using the Trace Tool

If you just need general information about cut lines and how to use them, you should start with the tutorial “matrix”. Only Vector files can be cut in the GUI and there’s all kind of tutorials that can show you how to make vector files using the program of your choice. (Inkscape, Corel Draw, Affinity, Ilustrator to name a few.)

These will get you started.

It helps for some people to see what a vector cut file looks like so I’ve added a simple rectangle for you to download and try if you like. Just right click on the file to save it. Then you can upload it into the GUI to use it.
