I’d give pretty good odds that is your unit. I believe many of the international units are being made at the Guadalajara assembly line, and Texas is a natural place for it to go from there.
Grapevine, Texas!
So good odds that that is your unit. I hope so!
Great! Hopefully the need for more info doesn’t derail the shipment – I did send a note to support although it sounds like they’re super busy at the moment.
Although I haven’t unpacked the actual unit yet (I can’t play with it until after Christmas unfortunately) I did unpack the box with the crumb tray. It includes a hose and proofgrade materials…but I don’t see an Inventables gift certificate/credit note anywhere. Can anyone tell me how/where they got theirs?
It is in one of the emails from accepting your Glowforge.
Nope. I have exactly one email asking for confirmation that I’d like my Glowforge to be shipped…no code. No further emails telling me that it HAD shipped.
Check the email with the Proofgrade shipping notice, near the bottom of the message.
As for the warranty, they will honor the promised extended warranty.
I didn’t get an email that was a Proofgrade shipping notice. That one that I uploaded is only shipping notice of ANY kind that I got.
You will get another email, then. It will have the information on the promised $150+ proofgrade package. That should have your Inventables code, too.
I will get something separate from the Proofgrade materials that already came with my unit?? They didn’t even notify me that my Glowforge had shipped. But it came with a pack of materials in the crumb tray box.
Tough to say how they are doing it now. Including the Proofgrade materials with the actual shipment is different than it was for us in the continental US and I believe the EU. We received 3 total packages.
How much? You might need to talk to support.
I have been emailing support. I asked them if I would get a notification when my unit shipped because I wanted to self clear customs. I got one reply saying “that must be so frustrating. I’ll look into it for you” and now crickets. I’ll take a picture of what I got and maybe you guys can tell me if that’s what you got in the US.
Great news, very exciting! Hopefully mine just randomly shows up soon too then, because mine said delivery for Dec 14th, with no further emails just like you.
Let us know what the cost is when you find out! I know Fedex usually sends a letter later for these things. Hopefully they are a little nicer to the packages than UPS is.
What all was in your proofgrade package?
Thanks for the update Traci and congratulations. Now if I read this correctly, they dropped the unit but didn’t collect the duties owed? Or did they just send you a message telling you to go and pick it up at FedEx at which time you would pay all monies owed?
I am in Victoria btw and my delivery date (still unchanged on my account) was 5 days ago. Really hoping to get a delivery soon.
Ok so I didn’t get a shipping notification so I couldn’t contact them to tell them that I would self-clear customs. Also, Glowforge had indicated to me that UPS would be delivering the package so… The driver delivered it and did not charge me anything…but said that they send invoices later. I’ve had this happen with FedEx before. When I called FedEx, they told me that they would be charging $70 for customs clearance and $11 in processing fees. The person I spoke to didn’t have access to how much Canada Customs was charging for duty…so that will be a surprise. They said I’d get the invoice from FedEx in 2-4 weeks in the mail.
Ok here’s what was in the Proofgrade bundle:

12" x 20.5" walnut veneer (finished)
12" x 20.5" maple veneer (finished)
5 pieces of 12" x 20.5" medium maple plywood
3 pieces of 12" x 20.5" medium draftboard
