On Feb 4, “Glowlocity” arrived by the brown-clad storks. After about a week of studying its features and burning cords of wood in the laser printer. I even took on a project that perhaps wasn’t for beginners (ask Jules slight_smile). I plowed through nonetheless because I must be challenged to learn. See photos of the prototypes. After having a very productive morning and afternoon, the laser gods came to tell me enough was enough. The laser is no longer firing.
It’s going through the motions. Everything is operating as normal EXCEPT there is no purple excitement going on in the tube. I shut it down, restarted; changed wood; even bribed it with curly fries from Arby’s, still it just goes through the motions.
I read the earlier entries on the topic and it sounds like a replacement is my only option. What a bummer!! I promised my middle school students participating in my after school club that I would have a prototype by this Thursday. Yet, another disappointment.
I await the official verdict
