Leather hockey mask and machete

Downloaded the pattern from https://www.leatherhubpatterns.com/

First go at this leather hockey mask. Downloaded the pattern and made some tweaks to cut it on Glowforge. I already have some variations planned in my head.

Cut from proofgrade thick natural leather.

Just incredible and so scary. You did a phenomenal job on the mask.

Please do not scare anyone with it ——even as a joke.

Excellent idea. Knife and sheath are definitely on my to-do list now.

man, you’ve got me tempted to make one of these. won’t have much time to get it done before halloween (leaving for the rest of the week tomorrow). and i’m not sure i have enough leather. but this would be great for the office halloween costume.

As a former “hockey (goalie) mom” (although are you ever “former”?) I was impressed enough with the “vintage” mask BEFORE it became spooky. Wonderful job!

Didn’t get it done in time for this Halloween, but at least I’ll have it next year.

1/4" oak for handle
Medium grey acrylic for blade. Etched texture into blade edge then wiped in black paint to highlight.
Medium proofgrade leather for sheath…hand stitched.
Thought about doing some faux finishing on the blade but decided not to make it look too real.
