My Carriage Air Assist Fan Hates Me

So, long story short, I’m unable to use my printer due to the dreaded air assist fan error of not working at the correct speed. This has happened over a handful of times and drives me crazy. Checked the connections, cleared and debree from fans, carfully cleaned the 4 pins and contact points, checked the magnets on the carriage plate and printer head, checked white cable for damage, checked pins where the white cable connects, unplugged reset my unit and restarted, even restarting my freaking computer and browser for safe measure. I know that support had previousy had to reset a setting remotely before on their end. Ive reached out to support, send required photos, and never head back from them after that. Starting to run behind on ny orders for my small business and getting frustrated/ “irked.” Have i missed anything?

You can purchase a replacement fan for backup.

Already have. Had an extra carriage on hand.

That didn’t solve it?

If so, then it’s most likely a cable issue, but not 100%…

Unfortunately, no. My white cable also had been replaced recently (couple of months?).

I would inspect the white cable for something not connecting. A new carriage would unlikely be the culprit.

There is a small white cable on the lid, but the one involved here is grey, not what. The main ribbon cable from the left side that folds back on itself and connects to the head. That one is not designed for replacement, although some have been able to source one and strip the machine down enough to replace it.
