Very nice! So using the non-proofgrade acrylic, you kept the plastic covering on it rather than removing and using tape (or paper tape) - any issues with that? I also noticed one stand was cut in a different order than the other. First one was outside then inside, the 2nd was inside then outside. Is cut order still random or did you choose any particular order?

Ah thats a bit cheaper. I got mine for free as part of a deal, so no qualms on price for me. Is that one laser safe? If so when I run out I might pick some up from there!

It seems to be, according to the manufacturer. I use it already for vinyl transfer masking, it has been more consistent quality for me than some of the other brands (from those companies catering to the vinyl/signage industry)

That’s what I use for both vinyl transfers and paper mask for lasering.

Pianola and/or Barrel Organ rolls

My parents have an old restored pianola that plays music it reads from a perforated roll of paper. I’ve been thinking it’d be a fun project to: a) write a script of some sort that can convert midi files into a pianola / barrel organ / other format and b) use a glowforge pro to cut the holes for one of these rolls, it’d take a while to do but would be a lot of fun to be able to ‘print’ our own songs! Mini paper tape music box

Thought about whether it would be difficult to create player piano rolls using a laser. But I don’t have a player piano. Then I ran across this little hand cranked music box movement. It should be quite possible to build an application that converted standard midi music files into laserable hole patterns on a paper tape. With the Pro version you could create fairly long rolls.
