Mine are due to be delivered tomorrow I guess I ordered later than most…
Mine came today as well, and my husband (who already has 3 sets of digital calipers) liked them so much he ordered a pair as well! Promotion still going and they are still in stock.
Mine were shipped yesterday - so hopefully tomorrow or Monday. Do they have any case or is that a Glowforge project?
They do come in a case…nothing fancy, just functional. That doesn’t preclude anyone from making one with the Glowforge, though! Also comes with a spare battery and a screwdriver to open the battery case (which I thought was a nice touch). I had to use my spare right away, though, 'cause the one inside was dead.
Got my calipers this weekend! They feel very sturdy

My first thought after seeing the case was ‘oh man, I’m so going to make a cooler lasercut version of this’!
Just ordered two!
No discount today. BOOOOOO!
It must have been running through the end of October.
Yep, looks like it is all done. Wow, I got it just in time!
The turkeys are coming! The turkeys are coming!
Got a nice big package at the office yesterday- how does @Jules put it? Oh yeah, squeeeeeeee!
As pricey as it is, Ponoko really does do a great job making your designs (although I have no idea why the one turkey on the left is upside down? Wasn’t like that in my svg file hahaha). Due to our budget constraints I had to nix the embellishments, but we’re looking to buy some cheap crafting supplies to let people go crazy decorating the turkeys themselves. The feathers took a little finagling to slot it all the way, but everything aligns together perfectly!
Definitely squee worthy, and what a fun idea to let folks decorate their own on the day of!
(What is Ponoko? Is that like a mail-order lasering place?)
Yeah!! It’s my first time making something lasercut that isn’t a one-off for educational/personal use, so it’s even more squee worthy haha.
Yep, that’s exactly what it is! They have a website where you can upload your design and pick the material and cut sheet size to make it out of. They even provide cut sheet templates with instructions on the color/weight to make all your lines. I think they’ve also begun branching out into cutting metals and 3D printing services as well!
Why did I not know of this thing? Why? Why? Why? (Could have saved a few thousand bucks.)![]()

Kidding of course…I’ve gotten more than two grand worth of enjoyment out of meeting you characters and hanging out for the last couple months. ![]()
Hahaha honestly, I think in the long run it’s cheaper to just get your own laser! The prices are a little high, but totally worth it for smaller projects rather than jumping through all the hoops to get laser time at a maker space.
Well, your adorable little turkeys are going to be a major hit at the party…(seriously, you’re gonna get tagged for future parties, so start thinking of a little Santa favor now…ROFL.)
Aw, thanks- I sure hope so!! Now all I need to do is make sure to get a photo of a bunch of adults in an office setting gluing googly eyes and feathers to little wooden turkeys
And honestly, I would be more than happy to get the chance to make a new holiday-themed favor! Santa, reindeer, snowman…so many options
Oh yes! ![]()
Happy Cake day !
Great catch! Happy Cakeday @soldiercoleman!
