Check these out. @shogun did the first two and inspired me to try the following two. The process takes a bit of time and you never know exactly what you’re going to end up with but they are a lot of fun and some come out even better that you expected.
I was inspired by @ lmiksch ’s post about canvas to pick up a 10 pack of 8 by 10 canvas panels from amazon:
I wanted to play around with painting and engraving. This is my first experiment:

I started by spray painting the canvas with red, orange and yellow:

and then I covered the whole thing in black spray paint:

Then all I had to do was find a cool image, invert the colors (greys) and run a very light engrave over the canvas with the glowforge.

They sit nicely over the record collection.

The colors are a bit brighter in person, but I think heavier coats of the red and yellow would have been better.
Following the directions in a post by @shogun , I wanted to also do an Alaska inspired canvas. Like the Norton tile I posted earlier, this was made from a online stock photo. I painted the canvas in multiple colors

followed by two coats of clear, after drying it was then painted semigloss black. This is just my first test, so I’ll play with the power a bit.

The colors are much clearer in real life, the photos don’t show them well.
As many of you know, I have been working on an Alaska themed series inspired by my recent trip. This is my latest piece. It measures 9"x17". It is a variation of the painted canvas idea that @shogun shared a few months back. As I was unhappy with the texture of the canvas, I painted up some dry erase board for this one.

I am really happy with this one and I hope you enjoy it.
