Apollo 11 mission commemorative shadowbox

[IMG_2709] @hansepe and I collaborated together on a space themed shadowbox about the same time as the Apollo 11 mission 50th Anniversary. We couldn’t resist. There is more in the works, but here is the first freebie. It’s made with 6 layers of proofgrade materials, both wood and acrylic. (Sorry, photo doesn’t do it justice. Shadowbox tutorial for Inkscape

Heretofore, I’ve made shadowboxes with a rim around it, but this time I wanted to do it differently

Once I mounted an engraving on Cherry ply with a 1/4" standoff on the wall, I decided it stood well enough on its own that I didn’t need a frame.

I have brought things in to my doctor’s office, usually cookies (they did have the fancy cookie lace I made with the help of my Glowforge), so there’s that. They seem to like tasty morsels there.
