Gave a gift card as a present this year, decided to make a pillow box:
Engraved white-core orange cardstock.
Bonus puppy photobomb.
And yes, his middle name really is “Danger”.

Thanks, Templatemaker!
OG post:
Any existing resource for die cutting patterns should be a great fit for laser cutting.
My wife has done a lot of packedge and stationary design and she is super excited about having a laser to do prototyping. (think patterns for fancy folded envelopes and paper toys).
She had a custom die made to manufacture these toys product design (available now at Ada’s books in Seattle ) and I know that if she had a laser I would not have had to provide as many glasses of wine during the prototyp…

This looks great. Amazing what you can do with a Glowforge.

After sharing my chocolate box recently, Pinterest started showing me that there are a ton of interesting box patterns there, too.
Nice work on the pillow box! I like the personalization.

This looks really cool–both the pillow box and the engraved cardstock.
A while ago someone gave me some cardstock with a different color core. I really need to give it a try in the Glowforge. Thanks for sharing your project!

The number of box types you can make at templatemaker is pretty great. I’m hard pressed to think of any type of box they don’t cover.

That’s really cool! Would not have thought to engrave the paper. Love the result.

Oh you can do a lot more with white core cardstock. Check these out:
I had a pack of double-sided white-core cardstock from ages ago and never got around to trying it out. Well, I’ve tried it now, and I love the result!

The paper has a slight woven tooth to it, which comes through beautifully when lasered.

Really pleased with the quality. Hard to believe this was made with a glowforge.

Worth mentioning: The vertical banding is not in the art. I suspect it’s down to variations in the paper, thickness of the color layer, changing…
Just got my GF and I’m making my cheat cheats. Did some research on the community page and tweaked a bit for results I wanted. The cut power 55 leaves no burnt edges, but you have to pop out the paper a bit. On this particular cardstock I could probably take the engrave power up to a 9 and get even better results. @LasorSailor on IG [image]
