Celtic Key Pattern Inlaid Box

I made another inlaid box. The key pattern was a lot easier to fit than the previous spiral. This one is hard maple with flip-fit walnut inlay. I also flocked the interior.

I made a build video, mostly for practice editing videos.

Some educational (for me) experiments in gluing the inlay. TL:DW: wood glue was a mess but, using CA from the back side worked pretty well, with the fallout hidden under the flocking.

Excellent inlay work. You got a link to the spiral project you mentioned?

So clean that it’s hard to tell that it’s been inlayed. You could tell people you cut a stencil and stained the wood and they wouldn’t second guess you!

Oop! Yeah, I meant to link that in the post (and it is now):

The pattern that is engraved looks fantastic.

Proving @raymondking32 right.

This isn’t engraved, it’s inlaid. It’s just very very good inlay.

I assumed that was a semi-trolling compliment. :grinning:

Very nice work. Looks like that inlay needed to be tapped in, great fit!
