In general, excess flame is an indication that the air assist fan is either fully or partly malfunctioning. It may need to be cleaned. You can find information on cleaning your air assist fan linked in #17 here:
It is possible that it has something to do with the material, and you should test with other materials to be sure – but checking that fan is the first step.
