New project, my wife ordered these and I have no idea how to:
Number one, hold them down.
two, score I assume?
Would a leatherette setting be appropriate?
I did look at the old posts on cork but I think these are going to be a bit different.
As always, thank you so much for any input or advice.
Apologies for that bad images. the bottom is cork. If I use spray adhesive, just add the thickness to the “non proofgrade material” section…Yes? Or, I can clean the crumbtray off after I suppose if it actually sticks to it.
What I would suggest is to make your coaster in any material and 4" diameter and use the sticky cork on afterwards. I use light maple but about any insoluable material would work. If you want just cork without sticky that is widely available too.
This one I have in the catalog in blue acrylic and maple…
She already bought 100 of these… suprised me… LOL she was excited to have a laser in the house. She bought 100 slate coasters as well. I bought the laser for other stuff but I am “crafting” now.
I see where you are going with that… I was thinking of throwing a bunch of different “sayings” for fun party coasters. I did not want to start down this road but, here I am Happy wife etc etc…
For that all you need is cardboard, not even circles of cardboard.
Except fo things like slate, or ceramics, etc. it is better to cut your own circles. (think about like painting the circle after you have shot the arrow, it is much easier to center the shot)
So please be very careful engraving unknown things.
With the number of reviewers talking about engraving them you’re likely safe - but you need to know you’re making a decision when you engrave something like that.
