Internal Heat Sensor Location

Does anyone know where inside the Glowforge the heat sensor is, that causes it to stop to cool down? Is this because the temp inside the GF is to high, or the liquid coolant around the laser is too warm? I know it is not the room temperature that is the problem.

I am fairly sure it’s on the board on the left in front of the coolant reservoir.
That area gets filthy because all the smoke is drawn over that way and over it before exhausting out the back..

I wonder if cleaning it regularly would help? I’m having issues with it stopping for hours to cool down.

The risk of damage far outweighs any benefit in my opinion. But it’s just that, my opinion. I’ve never touched that area in all the years I’ve had my machines.

I trust you on that. I won’t mess with it.

#20 on the faq is about overheating, might find some ideas there.

If the room temp is ok, then I would address the air flow. The air intake fan and exhaust fan in addition to the exhaust hose must allow for full air flow. You aren’t using the Glowforge filter are you?

My experience sets it in the head, as it is tied to it and the white cable, possibly near the tiny fan in the head.I was having problems using pause that would let the head get hot to the touch, causing it to overheat and stop and so got even hotter and never cool off until I canceled the whole cut.
