Thatās beautiful please explain to me how you did this
Thank you. The process is fairly simple. @shogun got me started thinking when he shared these two posts last fall:
Sunrise Samurai (Experiment in Canvas)
I spent most of Sunday and a few hours today playing around some more with canvas. Here are my results. The first canvas started out like this:

And using an old B&W photo from my younger days, I got this:

I played around with a few things and did the Orion Nebula from a nasa shot. The inverted photo looked like this:

The lasered canvas turned out like this:

I went back and dotted in the stars with a silver sharpie. ā¦
These previous posts give show the steps I took to get to the final results. Take a look at them and give it a try.
Following the directions in a post by @shogun , I wanted to also do an Alaska inspired canvas. Like the Norton tile I posted earlier, this was made from a online stock photo. I painted the canvas in multiple colors

followed by two coats of clear, after drying it was then painted semigloss black. This is just my first test, so Iāll play with the power a bit.

The colors are much clearer in real life, the photos donāt show them well.
You are probably getting as tired of seeing me posting these painted media projects as my wife is for me interrupting her to present my newest attemptā¦ but here ya go anyway.

edit- This is much brighter when seen in person
Iām having a heck of a time getting my grayscale to create smooth gradients. This one also suffers from banding (going to clean the belts and gantry rails now), but while it wasnāt the look I was going for I still like the results. These actually take some preā¦

Iāve discovered that settings on one photo does not always work on the next and the easiest remedy is to tweak the tone curve. This has been the only that I have been able to effectively deal with gray areas of the photo.
If I can be of assistance, just let me know.

Fantastic! Wow, that is so nice!
For those of you who have not yet experienced the aurora borealis, I hope that when you do itās in a quiet place. One of my best memories is watching the campfire die down on a canoe trip in a national park, gradually becoming aware of a sort of hissing sound, looking up and realizing it was the northern lights dancing across the sky. Then the wolves started howling across the lakeā¦
Yeahā¦ kudos on the evocative artwork!
