So after Chapter I and Chapter II of the series “Let Me Welcome Myself”, lets go for Chapter III:
Once the black cable has been replaced by a new rev10 one, the GF will turn on, react to open/close LID, focus and after centering, the darn message appears:
Obviously, “the steps” have been checked, and I tried to read SOME of the 100+ threads about the same issue here in the forums…
…but obviously I won’t read them all mostly because most of them either are closed with “we’re dealing with this via email” or the OP didn’t specify which the final solution was.
I do think my cables are all well sit (one that looks a bit skewed is because of the angle of the pic, I tried to reseat it and it wont go further in nor in a different position, and the black cable is new and the connector looks pristine so… :?)
But any additional input from the community will be welcome!
Thanks!

The black connector does appear to be seated correctly, but that doesn’t mean it’s making good electrical contact. Sometimes you have to re-seat it until everything works. Those connectors are not designed for repeated use, so they’re not really all that reliable when the cable has to be changed.
To the best of my knowledge, the camera is a simple USB device, I would expect the power and ground to be good as they would almost certainly be shared by color components on the land. That leaves the data connection(s), so even a slight imperfection in that(those) connection(s) could possibly cause this error.
I suggest gently removing and receding the black cable again and seeing if that works.

I did try to reseat everything to no avail and got the gf to respond once. I even was able to send a job to it but the same error reappeared even if the glow button started to glow… This is really weird.
