Nintendo Switch

They did the same thing with Twilight Princess and the GameCube/Wii. :frowning:

In that case I bought the Wii version (and a Wii) but afterwards I wished I’d just bought the GC version instead, as it had better controls and the visuals were almost identical.

This time around I’m getting the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild. (I’ve had it preordered on Amazon for a year or two, which is good given that the Wii U version seem to already be out-of-stock everywhere) Once again the visuals are similar. And there aren’t any other Switch games that look very exciting until Mario comes out in Nov/Dec.

I’ll probably wait a year until I pick up a Switch. Hopefully the price will drop and they’ll have improved it some. (It sounds like the software isn’t so great at this point and there are interference issues with the controllers.)

I’ll get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe next month. Other than that, Mario in December, and the already mentioned Blaster Master 0 next week. Also, if they release any classic NES or SNES stuff digitally, I might pick it up. This thing just became my daily game system, so it’s the one I’ll spend the most on.

I am just watching people play it on stream. Zelda that is. The world is HUGE.
It is kind of tempting. Haven’t gotten any Nintendo system since the 64.

Mother-in-law surprised us by having driven to a more remote store to pick one up so we could have one, too. It’s being set up as I type.

Hope they do it justice. I still polish off the original on occasion.

Coworker brought one to work today. Awesome coincidence, it was also the day we got secondary monitors with hdmi ports.
Fun stuff.

When I walked into the gamestop to buy my copy of Zelda the clerks and several customers were talking about how they have all been compelled to taste all of their switch games after hearing about the bittering agent.

The Wii U disk tasted like a regular cd.

Disappointed.

Its an amazing deterrent, but sometimes backfires. I remember when they added bitterant into the cans of compressed air. I didnt know about it, and had a dent I was trying to pop out of my car, so I heated up the metal, turned the can upside down to spray out the liquid so it would pop out from the rapid cooling, but I was positioned at the wrong angle and the dent reflected it back into my face. It took a couple of hours to get that taste out! blech!

Hoping my Switch will arrive today… I have Zelda and an empty Switch carrying case - been starring at both of them all weekend… Very tempted to taste the cartridge now…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

didn’t pre-order, so now I play the waiting game. Get so tired of Nintendo purposefully shorting the market every stinking time. but I love Zelda so much (and the reviews have been off the chart) what can I do but annoy the crap out of the poor kid at Gamestop

We were gonna go snowboarding on sunday, but I80 was shut down at 5:45 when I got up to check road conditions, so I turned on Zelda while still wearing my bathrobe. A little while later, my girlfriend remarked that I should get up and stretch, because I had been playing for over 12 hours and was still wearing my bathrobe. Don’t know if that says anything about how good the game is.

Sigh…patience is a virtue, and it sucks…

The NES Classic felt like they shorted the market, but I don’t know if it was purposely shorting the market or testing the waters. If it was testing the waters, then they should have had a second release, and I don’t think they did considering I just sold mine for $135.

The Switch didn’t feel like that, I only know the store I went to, and they had 100+ units… sure it was Best Buy, but it was one of the smaller BBs in the area. I imagine the bigger shops had more.

It feels more like the iPhone usually does… millions of units produced, but still not enough to meet demand. Hopefully there are more on the boat already and they show up sooner rather than later.
