Clover Box

I’m trying to design a clover shaped box. Does anyone know of a website that can generate the file, similar to Maker Case? I tried modifying a heart shaped box but I don’t think I am getting the tabs rights.

Sorry, I don’t know of one.

But you might consider making a layered box. No complicated tab joinery, easy to design and glue.

Wood glue is stronger than wood anyway. When I have made unusual box shapes, I cut the top and bottom from more presentable materials – perhaps walnut on top, and my go-to maple play for the bottom. The sides I typically cut from scraps of cheap 1/4" MDF I have left over from CNC router projects. I glue everything together and sand the sides, hen apply an overall finish. For the lid, I just make it the same size as the overall box, but typically cut an inset shape as a “lip” from something simple like maple ply. again.

After you have made the box as suggested above, if you don’t like the look of the layered sides you could cut some leather, fabric, or any flexible material and wrap/glue it around the box shape.

And flock the inside for a fiber textured soft surface. You can get flocking kits from Amazon for about $30 or so. I finish the inside of bandsaw box drawers with flocking.

I typically just use felt. Pennies per sheet at the craft store.

I do both but felt more for straightforward rectilinear shapes. I like flocking where the shapes are wonkier or access is tougher because I don’t have to squeeze my fat fingers into small spaces trying to line up felt to fit correctly

mount it on cardstock, after scoring the card stock with the laser, and leaving the necessary gaps so that it can be folded inward?
