I’ve no idea what the process/materials are but it looks very interesting and a long way from the usual lasered materials

Can you give us an idea of what we are looking at?

I can’t tell, but I am guessing parchment or tile? Painted and then the laser was used to remove the excess paint?

That’s so cool! Are you doing the black overlay and lasering everything away or a lighter overlay? It’s a really marvelous effect.

Sunrise Samurai (Experiment in Canvas)

I was inspired by @ lmiksch’s post about canvas to pick up a 10 pack of 8 by 10 canvas panels from amazon: I wanted to play around with painting and engraving. Some notes on using canvas

This one is going over in the Land of Sorcery so I can be a bit more specific. If you have not yet, take a look at the posts for “Samurai Sunrise” and “More Experiments With Canvas” to see what I am babbling about. The basics are this: I start with a basic 8 by 10 canvas and go to town on it with some spray paint of various colors. If I want the finished image to have brighter colors, I throw two coats of clear over that when it’s dry, and let that sit overnight. If you want a more pastel color…
