Does the Glowforge have onboard memory? Can’t it just recut a file immediately without re-processing the file?
It has a great deal of onboard memory, but if you simply replayed what was in it, you might get the wrong focus, wrong location, wrong material settings, etc, depending on how similar the new piece of material was to the old one.

Oven Rack Relief
Testing the rapid-prototyping waters, I just used a sharpie on a piece of Proofgrade Maple to make a oven rack pull (riffing off of @Jules example). 4m15s to engrave and cut.

My wife really liked the sign I made as a gift for a friend so she asked me to make a double sided pub style sign for her team at work. I am really happy with the way it came out. Once again I took advantage of the masking to make my paint work look a lot cleaner than it would be otherwise. Somethin’ Fishy About This Highlights Reel
I needed a quick display item for the week and since we had a request waiting I decided to go ahead and just knock one out real quick - it took about half an hour.

(Note: I deliberately did not adjust the settings and didn’t mask because I wanted to also test for a couple of other things. The result comes out much darker than what you will likely see when you cut it, especially if you cut it out of Proofgrade.)

A couple weeks ago I tried cutting a standard blank of Mother of Pearl for use as a musical instrument inlay. It was a complete failure.
Thought maybe a thinner material could work. So I tried a very thin 0.008" Mother of Pearl veneer. This is thin (and expensive) stuff, only about twice a thick as standard copy paper. You can see the difference between trying to cut the thick shell (right) vs. the thin MOP veneer on the left.

Just a Quickie Tablet Holder
So I’ve been needing a tablet holder for when my reading at the kitchen table is electronic the tablet doesn’t lie flat.
I found this over at Ponoko, it gives two different angles without any mechanical adjustment.
The hard part was that if comes as an eps file. Turns out that Vcarve Pro will import eps and export SVG.
The file said it was for 1/4" so I grabbed some Homedepot 1/4" that mikes out to .200". Well, it was way too loose so I went back into Vcarve and tweaked things and cut again.…

Alignment Suggestion
TLDR; This is not a feature. This is a suggestion on using a physical target to assist the Glowforge UI in auto centering / aligning designs on small one off materials. This is a THEORETICAL idea on how to do it. NOT AN ACTUAL FUNCTION.

Somehow, the kerf is perfect for the box joints on the drawers but a bit tight for the main box. If I make another one I will adjust for that.
I have not installed the pulls for the bottom three drawers yet but I could not wait to share.

Proofgrade Battery Dispenser Box
This one is currently a problem child that I get asked about occasionally, so I’m reworking it for laser use. (Not quite done yet - it needs some serious size tweaking, this one holds too many batteries, but I figured I could show what it will look like done in the three Proofgrade plywood materials currently on offer. Here’s a project I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but didn’t have it ready so I spent quite a bit of design time on it.
